MISSION

The Bartow Economic Development Council (BEDC) is a non-profit organization with the goal of developing a strong and competitive economy through fostering and encouraging new business development and business retention, while embracing Bartow’s quality of life offered to its citizens.

VISION

To make Bartow a model for inclusive innovation and economic growth, fueled by its diverse people and businesses.
We recognize that our work on behalf of the people of Bartow must be about more than bricks and mortar: we have a responsibility to ensure that our efforts help create jobs that pay well and provide ladders to long-term employment and economic resiliency.

HISTORY

Start up funding of the BEDC began in 2015, when the City of Bartow and Bartow’s Community Redevelopment Agency each earmarked 45,000 for the organization, with the understanding that eventually, the non-profit organization will become self-sufficient with private sector funds.
